Default Bad day for me

Well I would like to open this up by apologizing.

I got finally got some down and dirty pictures of my car from my wife and I am sad to say it can't happen. This car has fallen too deep into the Rice Monster. The time and work it is going to take is far too intense than I am able to give to it. I have 2 kids and a wife and after a deployment I can't spend all my time on a car. I'm sad to say this but I wont be able to revive this CRX. I'm still hoping to pick up another EF but their few and far between in Hawaii so until I can get one you wont see a build thread from me.

BTW I know this is probably going to get lock but until then let the comments begin..sorry for no tech.

If you guys know an easy solution to get the exterior back to oem standards with only 5 grand and get some engine work done lemme know, I will try to get some engine shots up later.

And btw I did buy it like this..it's taped because I was going to put aircraft paint stripper on it and the reason for no tail lights is because I was trying to scrub the tint off..

Yikes. I would start with a different platform if you're looking for an OEM-style CRX.

Get a different car that's not all riced out if you want an OEM-looking one. That one is going to be a nightmare to try to return to stock.

I would suggest Ebay ... if your tryin to find stock exterior fenders and such ... your talkin 5 grand ... for 5K, you could do miracles, I know I could ... Just search hard, high and low for some great deals ...

I don't think he'll have the time it would take to restore this one. I too think it could be done for 5k or so probably except for one thing, you don't have the time you need and your in hawaii making it MUCH harder and more expensive to restore it. If you are patient enough maybe you can pull it off and I too say start with another chassis but that is much harder where you are as oppossed to here in the states..........either way you have ALOT of work on your hands.

that poor, poor, poor crx. breaks my heart a little each time I see one this bad off.

all u need is a new front bumper/rear bumper/2 fenders/2 doors (main parts), brake the sides off the car, get some moldings, a lil body work wont hurt..me and my brother did it on our CRx years ago, and the car has a wings west kit molded to the car all the way around. took awhile, but payed off and sold it.

thats if your willing to do it GL

HA, i am selling my 88 CRX right now, i am in honolulu. EF7 front end conversion ef8 seats sohc zc and tranny(21k miles only) with new clutch and body is ok...2 g's and you would have an easier start not trying to thread jack but it is hawaii and clean efs are far and few between. Everyone here thinks a molded body kit and neons are mad tite JDM. BTW...selling cause i am gonna build my RT4WD WAGON!!!!!!!!

Honestly whats so hard bout that? Specially with 5gs? Strip the paint, sand/grind body filler thats not needed, get some side moldings, OEM headlights, get the paint off the tails, and paint it. Id love to have that and 5 grand to return it to stock.

The kit is molded onto the car, that always spells disaster.

wow. You need to read this thread again. I started the thread and planly apologized for it having little to no tech in it but I figured all of the guys I admired stuck to this forum so I posted here, nothing more nothing less.

All of you guys put up good comments, I would love to revive this car but I could really use some pointers, as in what kind of sanders to use for the filler or just go all out and get an angle grinder. I would love to return this car to atleast stock exterior and save the engine swap for the next heep of money I come across but I could really use some pointers...in either pm or post here, I'm new to the body work part and would love adivce. Sorry for the run on sentance and repeating myself but I've been up for almost 48hrs and I was curious what you guys have said.

As of now it is going to stay in my possesion, I have a guy on here wanting to sell me all 6 pieces with clips to the sides and I found a good website http://www.hondapartsdeals.com, with some killer shipping rates to Hawaii to retrieve my bumpers and lights and I'm going to give it a nice spray of the original Frost White. Words of encouragement would be wonderful

eeewwww i just threw up in my mouth when i saw that. i would give it to a body shop and tell them give it back to me looking like new. try slhondaparts.com. they have oem honda pieces for way less then if you go to a dealership. they are in cali too so its not to far from where you are.
