head questions...align bore?
if i get new cam caps or my current cam caps are out of spec for some reason, should i scrap the head or get an align bore?
if i get an align bore, how much does that cost, and who can do it in so cal?

Align boring for cam caps can get pretty expensive. I believe Portflow, JMS Racing Engines, RS Engines, and Alaniz all can do such work.
You cant buy cam caps individually from Honda, so my assumption is you're going to pick up a new USED set. Depending on how the cams wore down the journals on your head and those caps, they may not be able to be aligned.
IMO, if you can find a bare head in good condition, think about picking it up. It might be cheaper than a set of used caps and the machine shop cost.

They dont sell cam caps individually or seperately. They are only sold with the head assembly because the cam wears down those journals specifically to the shape of whatever cam is being ran.
