90 civic with zc stalls under any load PLEASE HELP
i have a 90 civic si with a d15b zc and i took it to get the valves adjusted at honda and when i went to get the car and take it home i knew something was wrong, it barely made it home, the tac was bouncing from 0 to 9grand and the car was like sputtering, long story short i got pissed at honda they told me to shove it and i raged and got my money back so now i've got a car that:
when ever i put on the lights or wipers, signals brake lights anything the car stalls so basically when its under load
also when i slowly hit the gas it revs up but wont hold a steady rev
when i have it reved up and turn on the lights or any load it kills the revs and stalls
when i put on the brakes both signal lights and the highbeam indicators come on in my dash and it stalls
my wiper blades move really slow and then the car dies
from the internet research ive done it seems people are sayin its either a vacuum leak, witch could be the case if it has something to do with the valves? or its an electrical ground problem.
how would i go about checking for a vacuum leak?
thankyou,
tony

try replacing sparkplugs and wires and dizzy that should help with the sputtering problem and then if that dont work
Humor me man.
Replace the positive battery cable. And then check all your grounds if that doesn't do it. Im serious. Please do it and then pm me if that does not fix the problems.
I had the EXACT same issues with my 91 prelude. The battery cables were corroded on the inside, and caused the same problems you are explaining.

It sounds like your grounds are off.
Why not get honda to FIX the problem they caused instead of just "raging" and getting your money back? Id rather let them keep the money and have a working car.
Or better yet, rage some more and get them to fix what they broke for free.

^^what he (SIRed91) said to the electrical prob, dude sounds like he's had an experience.^^
to check for vaccum leak you spray any sort of aeresol engine additive at the intake manifold and throttle body from close enough that you isolate an area with each spray (ie: dont just stand back and spray the entire engine cold side) if the idle bogs down then you've found your leak.
a bad vaccum WILL NOT cause the symptoms you are talking about tho, so i hope thats a new, unrelated question.
