Default HF, SI Question

I have a Honda Civic SI 91 I just Purchased. Car ran fine other then some hestitation up to a few dasy ago it started giving me a hard time starting, It acts like its out o gas but I can smell gas pretty strong. I check spark it sparked once then stopped. after numerous times of trying it finally started but sputters and spits. Car has a d15b1 in it, HF Exhaust, HF intake manifold, pm6 ECU and I have no clue distributor. I Dont what to do to get it running right. I ahve replaced map sensor, Main relay, cap rotor and wires. Nothing has changed. once i get it started i can cut it off and on but when i go back after a few hours it wont start again. Is there anything Else I can do to get this thing running right. I have been told the Car is going to need an SI manifold to fix it. But Idk if the pm6 ecu is for the si or hf, also dont know if teh distributors for teh hf and SI are the same.

Ok first of all, let me start by getting some of the basic info straight for you.
The PM6 ECU is for the Si, so its not the correct ECU for that particular motor. You will need the PM6 distributor(Si) if you're going to put the Si manifold on that motor.
Ok now that all this is out of the way, lets start on diagnosing the issue at hand.
Sounds to me like you may have a partially clogged fuel filter. The other thing that comes to mind is the possibility of having a loose rotor inside the distributor... This happened to me once, and actually happened to me again today.. Stupid Honda distributor!!!
Anyways, theres a few things to take a look at and double check yourself.
By the way, if you are interested in converting the car to Multi Point Injection, just let me know.
I have all the parts(except the distributor) to do the job.
Just send me a message and let me know.
Good Luck and keep us up to date on what you find!

PS... please let me know if this information helped... I try my best to help as much as I can
Oh yea, is this a Civic Si or a CRX Si??? that information may be useful for anybody thats trying to help.

Correct. Plus they have half the number of valves, a nipple-sized throttle body and basically all motor parts are smaller in air flow. So change out that exhaust

And yeh for another local! I'm down in Gboro and come your way often for work.

It has a d15b1 in it I dont think thats an HF engine. Im for sure teh intake manifold and exhaust are HF. and Im picking up an SI dizzy today hopefully to see if that clears up my Starting problem.

Sounds like a problem with either the distributor ignitor or the ignition coil, provided that all wiring is correct.

D15B1 is the Civic 3dr STD engine.
