Default Question for everyone.

Hey guys im new to the site and im just starting to get into hondas. Im thinking of getting a eg or ek hatch which would be better and what engine set up? I have a 6k spending limit so it needs to be within that price range. Let me know anything that you have please only helpfully comments.

i'm gonna have to disagree with you there, h-series swaps to me aren't really worth the hassle...think about it, you're spending as much to swap an h-series in as you would to buy a b18c5...but doing as much work as swapping an a k-series...and having power comparable to a gsr motor with bolt-ons all the while giving yourself an engine that's bulkier, heavier, and harder to work on.
and don't assume i've never driven anything h-series swapped, i've driven h22 hatches my opinion is

naaah everyones doing k series, its the same power but ur being ripped off only for the name

plus an H22 is OBD1 and so is an H22 and the conversion is alooot easier and cheaper. and with the little money you have over you can get yourself an ITR (Integra Type-R) lip

everyone is doing k swaps for a reason....250whp for a k24/k20 frankenstein almost bone-stock who doesnt want 250 all motor wheel horsepower for basically having a stock motor just swapped...not a hard decision if you ask me.

C5 will be best bang for the buck in the long term route.

When you make a reply, look above the text box. There is a button that says Quote right inbetween Save Draft and iServe. Click on quote to "quote" the person you are replying to. Also when you make a reply, you can scroll down the page to see other peoples posts, and at the right side of the page there will be Quote buttons, you can use those to quote multiple people in one reply.

To the origonal poster...
I LOVE my Honda's. Civic, Accord, Del Sol, Integra, Fit, Beat, anything Honda I love! BUT, if I were in the situation you were in, I would use the benifit you have of living in Canada, and get the Skyline, just to be a little different ya know. I dont know how many Skylines you see riding around in Canada on a daily basis, but in my town, city, and state, its VERY uncommon to see a Skyline on the road. Ive only seen one in person before, and that was at Darknights in canada lol! In the end, it only matters to you, so get what you really want. You could build a Honda to be faster than the R32 for less than the R32 costs, but its what you think you would feel better about driving on a daily basis.

The thing with the skyline is that parts are hard to come by and if it breaks down its kinda a hassle considering its going to be my dd. I mean skyline is a name and i dont really have money flowing out the butt to buy a skyline and a daily. lol. ok well ive heard the H22 and c5. Ive heard good things about both but now for the chassis, eg or ek hatch? i can get a type R b18 for 2k with 15k miles on it is that a good deal?

k20 swaps are the best swaps around i think. there smaller than a h22 and have more hp than a b18. with simple bolt ons you can easily make over 200hp and its been. and its also the new honda engine so its still being tapped into so i say k20

please dont speak out of you ***.

1. a h22 is at least a grand cheaper than a b18c5
2. h22 has something called TORQUE, which a i/h/e gsr doesnt match.
3. its been proven that a h22 is not considerably heavier than a b series so i dont know where you got that from.

i feel ya on the concern for a skyline as your dd...but i say expletive it. i wouldnt be able to pass up a chance to own one. if you decide to go hatch, i like the egs more, but i think the ek might be a better bet, seeing as they are newer...and i would go with that type r if you can get that deal on it...no doubt

for your sake and the sake of everyone reading this thread, make up your own mind and pick a car for your reasons. if you're getting into hondas get a honda. if your goal is to just have a fast import that will get looks and go fast get the skyline. set your goal and then ask if it's within your price range.

the bottom line is that the site is for tech. not for making decissions for someone else. it's good to get oppinions from people with experience but be a man and pick your car.

GTR's are AWD, last time I checked.

Take it from me though, a GTR for 9000 is going to be a steaming pile of ******* GARBAGE. Going to have problems, not going to run worth ****, and going to take 10K of work to get it running right.

And anyone buying an R32 GTR should be budgeting for an engine rebuild. Crappy oil pump drives + old abusive owners = pop, ask me how I know!
