New pads...but do i need rears?
I have to get some new Brake pads for my GSR because I tosted my OEM's. I'm getting the Porterfield R-4s but should I only get the fronts and stick with the OEM's in the rear? Or should I get them for the fronts and rear?
TIA

are your rears worn too? when I did my brakes this year.. I did all 4 corners using Hawks and Brembo rotors.. so that the front wouldnt be way better than the rears and cause the car to feel uneven or anything..
Yes the rears are worn also. My pass. side rear is the one that is worn the most and is making a god awful sound. So I might get all four or just the fronts and stick with oem in the rear. Depends on the price diffrence between the two.
OT: 500!!!!!

Rear R4S = $70
I say buy them.
Figure that ~30% of the braking is from the rear and R4S represent around 20% better braking over OEM, regarding coeff. of friction and brake torque. Thus, this represents ~6% of any increase in the braking performance overall.
Now think of the money you're spending up front for ~14% better braking. I'd bet you're paying 200% of OEM pad cost for this improvement. Not worth it if all you're looking at is economics. If you want performance increases, though, be prepared to pay.
Why halfass the job?
P.S.: Did you know tires will do as much or more than the brakes to stop the car?

Its good to see a newbie with some good info. The stock rears are $49. So it all comes down to $21.
P.S. I have the Azenis so my tires are ok for now
And the only reason I am getting new/upgraded brakes is because I have metal on metal coming from my rears. I guess I waited a littel to long to get new ones

Considering the very significant front brake bias on Integras, you can stick with OEM pads in the rears. Those who road race will often use stock pads on the rear brakes, with some Hawk Blues or something up front. The problem with OEM pads is that they can overheat faster than a decent aftermarket pad, but you won't encounter this on the street/autocross.
I personally have Axxis Ultimates up front and AEM pads on the rear.
Actually, the tire is what physically stops the car, as it is the only component in contact with the surface of the road. You'd be surprised at how many people don't know that.

I haven't taken the wheel off yet. But looking through it at the caliper there is still some pad left. The noise onlt happens once I have been driving around for a while and the brakes heat up. I see the little metal clip thing on the pad and I think that is what rubs. How can i tell if the caliper is fugged up and needs to be replaced?
Usually if one pad is worn out more than the other side, the caliper is messed up....
couldn't it be just stuck caliper pin bolts that need to be lubed? but yeah if one side of the pad is worn more.. check out your caliper, the mount, the bolts it slides on, etc.. find out the problem before you buy new pads and kill those too..
