the R's intake has a hose that goes from the resonator box to the right side fender area effectively drawing "colder" air...hth

you would be better using the DIY intake (cheaper than AEM, worx better than factory, and wont hydrolock) posted on this board a few weeks ago.
I did this with a K&N and I am very intpressed! $12 in parts! $45 for K&N!

i tried it.. i had a air scoop in the front of my car and that routed air into my airbox.. it was a ram air system..
it worked good; had good midrange, but the top end was weak..
i learned that nothing beats a CAI.. i use the Injen Race Division..

Since the intake opening is directly behind the turn signal lense, there is reduced risk of ingesting water into the intake. Also there is a hole drilled in the bottom of the intake tubing to allow water to drain in the event that water happens to get into the intake. There is an additional hole drilled in the bottom of the airbox to prevent water from being draw up into the intake tubing. All these features are similiar to the Comptech Icebox.

I believe the LS intake is 2.5 inches in diameter, while the ITR's is 3. Don't know for sure, don't own an LS.

Given that the piping is the same size, which I *think* that it is....seems like you just do a little cutting on your factory warm-air intake, like whacking the 90 degree bend off the end of it.....and presto chango, you have yourself a factory cold air intake! Right? Plus it weighs less!
