Default cable clutch issues

we just completed a cable LS swap into my brothers 90 DX hatch. MPFI conversion, customized the shift linkage, etc. etc. Now we are having a problem with the clutch.

the pedal has tension, but doesnt start engaging until the last 2 inches of travel, and it feels like it isnt engaging all the way. i have tried loosening the adjuster near the mounting bracket, but even with it all the way out, AND the rubber bushing removed from the ehd of the cable itself, it is engaging at te top and is a bitch to drive. am i adjusting it backwards?

Thanks.

Check and see if the pedal bracket is damaged or bent, sometimes when the car gets beaten on alot it gets bent or the welds on the bracket start to crack because of age and it causes it to lose tension. If so, then the whole front panel has to come off to remove that bracket. You might be able to find it at a junkyard but your better off going to Honda if you don't feel like doing twice the work. Good luck.

the tranny (and i assume the bracket) are from a 93 GS integra. the cable itself was in the 91 civic hatch when we got it, so i dont know if its a civic cable or a teg cable, or if there is a difference.

AFAIK its the original clutch with over 100K on it, so it might be going out. it never slipped when the engine/tranny was in my friends teg tho.

I'm not sure if there's a difference. I would think that the teg cable is longer though.
