Need help in using my MT slicks at the strip
d16y8 civic boosted at 12psi
my best time on street tires is 60' = 2.2
best time w/ SLICKS while launching at 6-7 grand was only 1.9
what kind of time should my 60' times be w/ slicks?
how should i heat up my 22x8X15 MT's? Water box or no water box? how long should they spin for and what's the best psi to have the tires set at? i'm going back to the track this friday and i need input...thanks guys...ohh and the civic was dynoed at 202 lbs-ft tq...not sure if that's needed info or not...

more tire speed, less engine rpms, heat tires faster and easier on a open diff to get both tires spinning.........
besides IT WORKS!

I will be running the 1/4 soon with my tiny *** 20x6.0x14 M/T slicks I run the 1/8 with 12-15 PSI.....My 60 fts are 1.8-1.9...I have just a 92 b18a with 91 ECU and air intake and custom 2.5" exhaust thru a pro #1 canister type muffler are 60 fts as good as there are going to get with this set-up??? With my 24.5" MT slicks, I pull 1.6 60ft times consistently. You should try a second gear burnout and I would put in LESS than 12psi in the slicks (try 9-10psi). Let me know how it works and I can give you more suggestions if needed. GOOD LUCK!!
i did that this weekend upon mista bone suggestion. didnt do much to my 60ft, but hes right, more tire speed less revs to do it. i like. except for second round when my damn clutch fork got cockeyed and wouldnt disengage completely giving me a fat redlight.
side note: blew up my KAAZ in 3 months.

I never liked the whole 2nd gear burnout thing....1st with our open diff worked fine......and 22's are just fine slicks thank you....**** Tony Shagday runs 10's on em
m/t says that you don't need a burn out to run on them. it says little or no burn out would be best, so what what kind of burn out are you guys doing? little, none, or big smoking ones?? i'm gona be tring them on my type R next week and just what to get ideas on how i should do it
I got 22x15x8s MTs and the only real big burnout Ive done with was my first one.... to break them in.
the preceeding burnouts have been light, just enough to get them smoking a bit. I do run consistent low 1.9 @ 12-13psi
It would be nice to run a 1.8...we will see.
Since we are on the subject..how long will these slicks last me? (Pass wise?)

I have 23.5x7.5x15 M&H on slicks and I broke my axle doing a 5000rpm launch! Now I'm upgrading to some beefier axles to prevent from breaking
itr206- my IM window wont open..but, here's to answer your questions.
i am using M H slicks that I got at Import Auto Salvage.
apparently YES, I broke my axle on my first ever run on those slicks...too much traction plus clutch dump = broken axle
what kind of slicks you got in that size?
they hook yup for you good?
