VTEC - Oil Pressure.
Does anybody know how to check the pressure on VTEC? Also I have a knocking sound coming from the cylinder head.
I've attached the pressure gage on the oil gage port next to VTEC valve. There was no presurre (0 psi). After I bypassed GRN/WHT terminal with + from the battery the pressure was 20-65 psi depending on the RPM's. Is that normal or there should be some pressure without Bypass connection?

the helmes indicates that if your engine has normal operating oil pressure that the VTEC solenoid will activate. there is no specified pressure. if you are checking for pressure after the solenoid, jago is right, there wont be any pressure there until VTEC is engaged. is it not kicking in?
It does, but what I am concerned about is the knocking sound coming from the head. Its very strong so i thought the valves might need adjusting. They were a little loose when we checked them and recalibrated them, the sound still stuck around. What else in the head has the possibility of making that very loud and specific ticking sound?
