$39.16 Shipped for Brand New ACL Bearings?!!??!??
Is this too good to be true?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
A cross-referenced all of the part numbers and everything looks good. All i need is the rod bearings but after calling many of the sponsors on the board they were going to charge me more for the rod bearings than what this whole set costs.
Look at the guys feedback too.

Why? I didn't intend to have this thread turn into a debate but if an ACL bearing provides the clearance you desire they are a GREAT alternative to Honda sourced bearings.
My mains were all over the place so yes, i went with Honda. But for the rods they were all green so why pay Honda $90 for rod bearings when i can get this whole set for $40?
ACL bearings are of equal or better quality than honda at a much better price. If you get the clearance you want why does it matter.

You tell me exactly why and back it up with actual facts. Lets here it. I used ACL's in 90% of my builds. I only resort to Honda bearings when the ACL's don't clearance in spec. This has RARELY been an issue.

yeah, my mains consisted of 3 pairs of green and 1 brown pair and all rods were green, so i bought an acl set for $40 or so and forked up the $20 bucks for the browns.

ACL bearings are a match for OEM greens. If your build requires the greens then hell yea, save the cash and go with the ACL's. But you should have your clearances checked and not just go with what is marked on the parts from Honda as you may have experienced some wear over time that may cause what you think was the right size bearing to eventually fail. I had a set of ACL's that I was going to use in my build and decided to sell and go OEM just for that fact. Also the OEM bearings are well known for their durability and long life. Just some food for thought.

Umm. If you are saying the journals will wear over time then you have issues with your engine that NO bearing is going to correct. I've used ACL's for almost all the engines I have build both for myself and for friends. Thats over 20 builds with mainly ACL's and not a problem to date. You can say what you will about them. Clearance them, of course... but 9 times out of 10, they will work just as good as the OEM. I don't think the OEM and any more "durable" over the ACL's either. I'd consider them the same myself. Both are tri metal bearing.

Exactly.
This thread is to point out a cheap source for ACL bearings. Not to debate the use of ACL vs. OEM.
There is nothing wrong ACL bearings. The quality is equal or better. The only concern is clearance which comes down to the builder. If you feel the need to use OEM thats fine but telling someone they are better is false. Nothing wrong with using OEM.
We need to remember that Honda doesn't make bearings. They buy them. ACL also provides bearings for many manufacturers.

after seeing this post, I ordered a set of ACL's for my gsr. received them today, but they sent me a set of King thrust bearings instead of the ACL's that was pictured. I've bought many many acl bearing kits from various places and have always gotton ACL paper packaged thrust bearings. I am waiting for the ebay seller to respond to my message concerning this matter.

I understand what you guys are saying. But my point was, on the ebay post, it pictured all Acl's and I was sent something different.
They did email me back the very next day, today, and told me they have sent out the ACL thrust bearings. and that the Kings were a mistake.
So for the Price and level of Customer Service. These guys would get a
from me and will buy from them again.

While you have built many more engines than me, Honda builds 14 million engines per year (wikipedia). Maybe they know how to make bearings.
