Default another painted steelies thread

well, i decided to paint my steelies since they had some surface rust on them and i am about to put some winter tires on them....damn chicago

i didnt take any pics before i primered them but basically you they were black with surface rust like any other steelie. i took a wire wheel to them, sanded them, and primered them.

i used a two stage paint for the lip, this is the base coat...

then came the second stage, a transparent red...

first coat

second coat

done with the red...

then i had to tape off the lip where it was to stay red...

then goes the final color...

then remove all the tape and enjoy the outcome...

overall, i am really happy with how they came out for snow/winter tires

take the time to mask in a straight line~
you need three or more coats of the red , looks a little flat.

i know it isnt nearly perfect but i wasnt too worried about it, as for the red, it looks a lot better in person, the picture doesnt do it justice
