Damn.. I wrote a nice long reply and HT lost the post since page couldnt be displayed.. AHH!! Anyway I "THINK" it's called a sash.. I got mine from a junk yard. The guy laughed since that's all I had in my hand. He just let me have it. I'm trying to remember if that's what he called it. I'll search for you one sec..

EDIT : Yep it's called a sash.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com has them too.

I think they run about 25 a piece... which sucks when broke *** thieves try and use a screwdriver to get in and break both of them.

That's why we're here. What in the hell would we do without car forums? I know I'd see a lot of rich mechanics thats for sure!

Remember that they screw from the oposite side! Don't make my mistake and assume it "pops" off. I ripped it off and was like "***!!! NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER CIVIC TO COME IN!!" Nothing like going to a junk yard, finding that part that you don't see everywhere and breaking it before even buying it. Most of the yards in my area are "U PULL IT" type yards. You walk out there and pull off what you want from the car.

That's nothing. When my car was stolen they took my radio. You know how easy lots of aftermarket radios are to remove? Well they used a screwdriver and pried it out. $117 for the black plastic bezel they broke.

For that reason I never fully secured/screwed in my cd player. Before I had an alarm, I had my car broken into. They wanted my CD player. They gently broke my door lock, got into my car, and simply slid out my CD player, and that was it. No damage to dash whatsoever.

Just try not to flip your civic and die. There was a guy who flipped his truck, and his family tried to sue the CD player company because that's what killed him. What killed him was the fact that the CD player wasn't screwed in, it slid out while he was rolling over, and the thing hit his head, which caused his death. I had heard it on the morning show. They thought it was a crazy lawsuit. If they won, I never found out.

Mine was properly secured, but easy to remove. It had those little clips you just squeezed in to pull the CD player out.
