car not running right after head gasket install.....
Ok so i got an 89 Civic Si with the d16a6 with intake, header, exhaust, and a test pipe. My car was smoking badly before i changed the head gasket. Now the car doesnt run right, but the head gasket is on the right way. It sounds like its about to die off all the time. Like its cammed out a lot. I have no idea what is wrong but there is a whistling in the engine bay which leads me to believe i have a vacuum leak somewhere. Help me out guys. Thanks.
Edit: My ecu is throwing code 7 which is a tps and a code 20 i think, its 20 blinks then stops. but its not throwing a code 7 after the 20 though.

the whistling is a vacuum line in that back that goes from the intake manifold down to some black box on the block (at least, thats where my whistle was from....
as for car not running right, could be that the timing belt is off 1 tooth, or that the spark plug wires are not correct, those are the first 2 things that i would look at....
?? tps could be sensor broke (maybe get another if availible...)??
good luck!

Im going to check that vacuum line tomorrow. I belive its the one to the pcv valve, but the timing i will definitely check and the spark plug wires are correct, check them already. Ill overlook everything again. I just needto get this thing running right.

Definitely check you timing, Sounds like its off a tooth. The same thing happened to me and I was I denial. But after I triple checked and redid the timing it urned out good, It actually ran better than before
