Default Bad Mechanic

So I took my car to a mechanic to get the oil pan replaced. So he had me spray down the engine (I knew this was going to happen). Now the engine light is on. Also, the speedomotor didn't work for awhile. The time display keeps changing hours. When I got the car back teh antenna does not work properly.

when the radio is turned on, the antenna extends. when it stops extending, the motor is still running and makes a loud noise as if it still pushing up, even though the antenna has stopped extending.the same thing happens when the antenna retracts except the antenna stops about 2 to 3 inches short of flush. and when the antenna does stop, once again the motor continues to run making a loud sound as if wanting to continue to retract the antenna. i what do i do to fix this loud annoyance?

How can spraying down the engine harm it. I'll take it to autozone to see what the light means.

Any advice with the antenna? THANKS

learn to do it ur self lol

to pull ur code simply use a paper clip and jump the blue 2 pin conecter under cd player in console. obd1 will flash the check engine a series of flashes for the code. 1 long flash is 10 1 short is 1. (1 long flash 3 short = code 13) then just reference to the codes list u can find all over the internet.

No, Autozone does not do that for your car. It has to be an OBD2. You are OBD1.

I wouldn't be worrying about fixing it yet rather than documenting everything, taking pictures of what's wrong now, talking to the guy that did the work, and possibly reporting it.

Nothing there sounds right...

Soo what exactly is a honda shop? there is a place called hondoctors here but they told the guy that I bought my car from the engine my have a blown head gasket when the leakdown test showed less than 10% and it did run perfectly.

Are you sure it's coming from your oil pan? Did you cover your electrical components when you sprayed your engine down? There's like 5 common leak spots on a prelude engine (distributor o-ring, cam seals, head gasket, valve cover gasket, and oil filter cooler o-ring). I'd check to see exactly where it's coming from.

As for your CEL, do the jumper routine and you can find code lists all over this site. Fix what that says before you start worrying about individual problems like your antenna. Just put your antenna up and unplug the power to the motor if the sound of the motor is that annoying. Temp fix though.

Didn't cover the electrical components mechanic just said spray it down....

Nothing is coming from the head. I can't see any leak from the top looking down. seems like a lot of oil is around the oil pan gasket, but it was just replaced??? I'll ask teh mechanic to make special note of those places. Thanks

Can I check those without getting under the engine? Also, the car has an aftermarket cd player installed. Where exactly is the OBD1? THANKS A LOT!
