Default Building B series head, need help selecting parts!!!

Hey guys, this is my first time venturing into this forum so be nice to me...

The time has come for me to build my motor, and the first step is going to be upgrading my B16 head. In time, I will be purchasing a 1.8 bottom end/itr tranny, but i need to do my head now because one of my oem valves "went south for the winter."

im thinking of these parts:
skunk 2 valves, retainers and springs, oem replacement valve guides (should i go for aftermarket instead?) and skunk 2 Pro 1 cam shafts... unsure on what i will tune it on, i also have a hook up for good prices on head work, so im gonna have the bare head ported and polished, and checked out to make sure there are no flaws...

this is for a mild street drivin build, and probably never revving over about 10k...

ANY suggestions on other parts i should gather before jumping into my build? I have not purchased anything yet, im just doing research right now trying to figure out a good combination of parts for my needs.

im a self proclaimed noob at engine builds, so play nice plz...

thanks for reading!

Or you can just buy full skunk2,ferrea,supertech vavletrain. Skunk 2 pro2 cams, edlebrok performer X im, larger tb with a mild portwork.

thanks for the input. as of now I have'nt decided exactly how mild or wild im trying to go, but im leaning much more to the mild/reliable side because i DD the car... the machine guy is suggesting pretty serious setups (read: expensive as hell ) my B16 is on the outs, so i will most likely be building an R bottom end and i want to use my current head. i'd like some suggestions on more budget friendly setups...

i am looking for the most bang for the buck, quality parts but without going crazy and buying more harcore parts than i need for a street setup. this is my first build so, yea... thanks for the advice so far, lets keep it comming.

First things first, list a budget and some goals then go from there.

ok, i plan on doing the full motor eventually, and as it;s looking I will be starting the build soon. so for headwork and parts, and including a bottom end of type undecided and an ITR tranny... 170-180 whp w/ tune for 4k or a litle more, trying to keep it under 5 tho. i already have the head itself. this is possible, yea?
