Default k24a2 Tuning Results

Just figured I would share this with all of you guys! I don't have any new pics of the engine after the RBC or anything, but here's a quick shot of the dirty *** engine bay after the initial swap! It looks a lot different now with the RBC IM, Maxbore 65mm TB, Fiber Images CF hood and all that other crap I put on this past weekend before tuning!

ANYWAYS!!! Enough of that, on to the results!

Tuning session this morning from 10:30am up to around 12:30 @ JE Import Performance tuning by James Evans. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, this is the most I've ever modded a car and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I was hoping for around 215whp but really didn't know what was possible.

The Sheet:

Before anyone throws out any comments about the numbers, I just want to say that I'm very pleased with the results and I couldn't be happier for a daily driver that remains comfortable enough to cruise around town and take on road trips!

The Engine:
stock K24A2 from an 04 TSX
Hondata IMG
RBC IM
Maxbore 65mm TB
AEM V2
Ep3 Specific DCRH
Comptech Catback
Competition Clutch Stage4 6Puck
ACT Prolite Type-S Flywheel

I think those are good numbers. Considering you aren't using a full 50 degrees of vtc .

I've heard that I should get the intake cam gear machined out to 45° if I plan to keep stock internals. 50° if I plan on stage2 cams/valvetrain...

I'm not sure which route I'll be going yet, but I'd like to rock some stage1 cams, supercharge it, bigger injectors, and the 45° cam gear.

If I start heading that direction I'll look into getting it machined out.

Numbers aren't bad for a few bolt ons.

I have a k24a2 swap as well, props to you sir. Although my set-up is a bit different...

And I agree that the results could be better with a 45° VTC cam sprocket. If you plan to supercharge it I recommend a Type-S exhaust cam to prevent exhaust blow-by.

I was originally planning to SC it. But my plans have changed.

Picking up a revhard t3/t61 turbo kit this weekend with larger custom 2.5" piping fmic kit, 550cc injectors, and some other stuff with it.

Before that goes on though, hopefully I'll have enough to pick up some Import Builder 9.0 compression pistons and rods.

I think with a 3in cai, you would probably see the #'s that you hope for...
