Default Looking for The cheapest build, with the most potential

Well, I recently bought a 92 Cx hatch, car is nice, problem is i cant afford insurance right now due to points.

So, I was wondering what the cheapest way to make reliable horsepower would be.

I was thinking finding a cheap D16 Engine, and just building it up.. But im really not sure in which direction to go

All motor is fine, im just looking for somthing thats quick, I just dont know whether i should go turbo, This is the only car i have so as far as reliability i dont know about the turbo..

Can someone give me some guidance, How much does it cost to have a d16 bored over, what rotating assembly parts will make the most power for a decent price..

Honestly if i had to say, i dont really wanna spend more than 1200 bucks by the time im finished with the engine,

LS swap.

down the road you can bust LS/VTEC.

This thread scares me.

You'll have to make up your mind if you are willing to go with a B or not factor those costs in and compare it to a D setup of sorts.

1200 isn't going to get you too far factoring in you'll be buying a motor as well.

Your best bet would prolly be to go nitrous on the D-series. and even if it does pop, you can still buy another longblock for cheeeap

turbo the D and tune it. not much more u can do with that little money...

a turbo D can hold up a lot if done correctly, in the doing correctly is where most people screw it up

slapping on an ls and just doing the usual maintance would be the best i think you have way move power and since you got the lightest hatch it will be faster also and in theory you will have a stock motor so cant get more reliable than that.
