More than likely, it's the master cylinder... had this same problem when I had a 92 accord... fixed the problem immediately.

Ive been thinking about this. As the breaks work fine when I dont use the ac maybe a fluid flush will fix it... it seems aweful thin and maybe the heat is causing an issue.

That happened on my former '95 Integra. I tried flushing the brake fluid & it was only a temporary fix. Couple weeks & it was doing it again. I had to replace the master cylinder.

Im stuck between a rock and a hard place here. Other then when I use the ac and some time after that , the breaks work fine.

While I would like to use the ac I dont have money to change a master cylinder that otherwise seems to work fine.

I am grateful for your feedback though.

Eventually it'll start happenning when you don't have AC turned on. May as well get prepared for that. Save up & don't drive close behind me.

Its not expensive to get a rebuild kit, you should not need an entire master cylinder, clean it good with brake/parts cleaner and do a complete 4 wheel brake bleed/flush with plenty of new fluid.

Higher under-hood temperatures cause it to happen more. But it seems that the problem comes & goes with the AC more quickly than the AC can influence under-hood temperatures. I figured the cost of a new MC was cheaper than jacked-up insurance after hitting something.

Even with the a/c on the brakes still work , just not with the margin of comfort i would like , but far from failing.

Im inclined to think it is a heat issue.

Jim , thus far the brakes are working not badly... fact is Im so over careful that I try to anticipate problems before they become problems. Trust me when I say I wont even let the brakes get so bad that I would risk an accident.

I am grateful for the feedback of all you nice people.

That's good. I meant what I said as friendly hassling; I'm not trying to be mean...

It was my experience that flushing it with fresh fluid was a very temporary fix.
