New springs
Hey everyone. I'm building a new car for some weekend warrior driving, days at Blackhawk Farms or Road America and some occasional auto-x. I'm building an EK hatch and i'm still pretty new and not near as experienced as the people i run with. I don't want to go with a hardcore suspension right out of the gate. just something competitive that i can can learn on. It is my experience with my last car that Tokico struts are the best way to go, but with all the spring options i'm just not sure which way to go. I had Eibach pro-kit's on my other car and they seem to do just fine but if there is something better that i don't know about i would love the advice. Any suggestions?

Go with a coilover/sleeve setup like Ground Control, that way you can easily change spring rates when you want to. If you can find out the spring rates of the Eibach Pro-Kit, you could duplicate that with coilover springs, but I'd guess those are going to be pretty soft for competition purposes. I'd suggest something around 400f/300-400r for a car that's daily driven as well (depends on your swaybar setup and how much oversteer-friendliness you want).
Koni Sports are superior shocks to the Tokicos; Konis can handle higher spring rates, have a lifetime warranty if you buy them new, and are rebuildable/revalveable for super high spring rates if you ever go above 500lbs.
