2 things:

1)my alternator isnt putting out *heaps* of charge (battery voltage is not much more than 12v) so i want to rebuild it,

is this easy? is there a honda kit?

2) it has just started whining over the stereo system, would it be beacuse it has bad bushes? (ie needs a rebuild?)

Do you have a Helms manual? It has pretty detailed instructions on how to do this. Even the cheap Haynes manuals tell you how to do it. It's not that hard at all.
