alright as the title says im buying a 88 crx si tmw its got a dohc xc engine in it. i think the dohc zc egnines were only available from88-91 please correct me if im wrong. the thing is the clutch is gone, now i just wanna be able to drive this this around and test it out and i can get a used b18a1 (1990) clutch for free and if i can get honda to istall it tmw that would be perfect. now i just wanna know if the clutch is interchangable between these 2 engines. please help im not good with clutches, and roughly how much do u think it will cost for the just to instal it. tia

 

Word of advice:

Don't buy a modified car unless you're mechanically inclined and capable of doing your own work.

A dealership probably won't touch the car cause it has an engine that wasn't even available in this country.

You're going to run into other problems as time goes by because it's nearly a 20 year old car and unless you're able to do your own work, it'll cost you more than its worth. That is, if you can find someone to work on it.

 

i don't beleive the clutches are interchangeable. the zc is a d series engine and the b18 is a b series. there isn't to much, if anything, that is interchangeable between those series of engines.

 

i am mechanically inclined i just dont want to put the clutch in becuase i dont want a tow truck bring the car to my gmas house who lives next door so i can put the car in her parking lot i wanna drive it in, so that she doesnt think it a car thats **** like form the scrap yard. i guese ill just have to change it myself in my garage without my mom knowing lol.

most likely its cable. lol man you sound like your 12 I cant let my grandma see it or Ill have to hide it in my garage. hahahahahahahahahhaha
