heard a million times from numerous painters that standards of a professional paint job requires brand new rubber seals and weather stripping but its not cheap so most people re-use em.
i reused mine, its been 3yrs holding great but i dont recommend it

I hear the same thing but personally i think its ok to reuse it... Just use some silicone or other waterproof adhesive to hold them in tight when reapplying.

To be honest, i went to a junkyard and ripped the drivers side window trim out of an EF hatchback and used it in my crx... 20 year old window seal, felt like brand new rubber and keeps the water out... thats all i care about, was sick of getting my shoulder soaked when it rained...

I mean, if you cant even get the trim out without breaking it in half because its so old and brittle, then yeah, replace it. But if its still good and comes out and goes back in with no cracking, ripping or tearing, why not reuse it?

I feel that if the rubber trim has not shift or shrunk and there is minimal
gap between rubber and body......then by all means reuse.
