Default H22 engine coolant plug

I lately noticed I am leaking coolant from under the intake manifold close to the proximity of the oil filter. I know there is a heater core hose, the coolant hard pipe back there also but the area around them look dry so I am assuming it's most likely from the engine coolant plug.

Last time when I had the plug out, I applied Honda bond on the threads prior of reinstalling it and I torqued to specs stated int he helms manual. How could it leak? is Honda bond not holding up to the job? I am wondering if I should take the plug out and use some other liquid gasket on the threads of the coolant plug.

What you guys suggest?

Thanks,

It might be your intake manifold gasket. I don't know about H22's but on my H23 the intake manifold has a hole where the coolant flows through and I blew that out twice. If you look under your car, it would look like it is leaking right under the manifold. My uncle (mechanic) even thought the water pipe cracked. Towed it afterwards to my other uncle and he tested it and found that the gasket was bad. Do it yourself though because even he tried to charge me like $200! I didn't have the money at the time and did it myself. It took me like 3 days to do it at my uncle's shop (like 3 hours a day) but I finally finished it. Saved myself a lot of money. The 2nd time I did it, I remembered most of the things and how they went back together and took me about 8 hours. Now it takes me about 3 or 4 hours. Check the gasket. Most of the stuff is bolt on.

I rebuilt the cylinder head myself approximately 4 months ago. I replaced both the head gasket and the intake manifold gasket. It's not the gaskets. It's definitely the coolant plug.

I am wondering if anyone here had the same experience and what liquid RTV I should use. I'm going to pull the plug out and re-seal it but want to be the last time I do it.

Oh. Well my intake manifold gasket blew up like 2 weeks after I put the new one in the first time. It always blew after I ran the **** out of the motor...

use a liquid teflon, or a teflon tape, can be found at most auto part stores
