Default rebuilding my c5 how exact is plastigauge

i'm plastigauging my mains and it calls for .024 as the minimum, and .030 for number 3. according to my helms manual. now i'm getting readings just a hair thinner although i'm using the exact color bearings that were installed in it. and the machine shop said it will take std. bearings. just need your input. thanks

if you dont have a micrometer, then its better than slapping it together and guessing everything is cool.

Just use it you will be fine. If its too small, go for the bearing the next color/size up.
