If you want carb legality and boost, your options are JRSC and Greddy turbo currently. To pass visual you need the carb exemption for aftermarket items. You will still need to pass smog within normal limits. Or you find a hookup to let you pass. Going rate for this seems to be 150-250.

LS/Vtec would be legal if you can smog it I guess It would definately pass visual. I am guessing it should come under normal engine swap guidelines. Engine has to be same year as the car or newer. After the swap you are supposed to go to a state ref, but I don't see the point if it is not noticeable in the visual inspection.

You should be able to find most laws at your local library, I think most of them have most of the state laws in the reference section. I know mine does. Good luck

You can pass with Ls/vtec no problem. I passed my B20/vtec at a local smog shop easily. I also have ITR cams, ITR intake manifold, Adjustable gears, VAFC, and an intake. I put the stock exhaust and header on for the test. The visual part he asked what the oil feed line was and i said it was for dress up purposes only. Other than that no problems.

A turbo will not pass visual inspection what so-ever unless it is CARB approved. So just take it off and test, or pay someone to do it for you.
