Default Invidia vs. Skunk2 vs. Tanabe

I have searched and found some information on all three of these. Most of the talk is about how they sound. They do sound fairly good, I have chose those 3 because they average around the same price (tanabe concept G a little more) and they dont have a bad sound to them. Anyone running any of these exhaust systems on their R's? As far as performance is concerned, what are your opinions and feedback? Thanks

I had a Tanabe, it was loud as hell. Not recommended! lol. but I did just order the Invidia N1, so it should be here soon. I'll let you know what it sounds like.

The Skunk2 N1 and Invidia N1 mufflers are both made by Invidia just rebadged Skunk2. I have the Skunk2 and have looked at them side by side. For the price I couldn't beat it. And it came with a butt plug that I acutally have to use at tracks that control sound levels like Limerock.

Sound is good, it's loud. Don't let anyone tell you different. N1's just are loud. I got it because it was cheap, is 60mm from cat to muffler and came with the buttplug.

I dynoed my car before I added it and not after so I have no idea what the numbers are but my car is mostly stock so I wouldn't guess much. It did feel crisper on the throttle and felt like top end was stronger near 8,500 rpm but other than that I didn't notice much besides the noise.

Ironically I bought it and wanted a loud setup so I could hear it better when revmatching with my helmet, earplugs and chatterbox on.

i had the invidia N1. It was nice to me. loud but not too loud. Right now i have a BCIII and that is just way too loud!!! The only problems i had wit the Invidia N1 is that mine was tapping my Lower control arm. and also it was on my rear bumper causing a lil bit to melt off.

Yeah this is where you'll run into what is loud for me is just right for you. Mine is mated to a Spoon header and HF cat and in the car at WOT you have to yell between driver and passenger. And even then it's a challenge to understand eachother with helmets on. For street and daily it's not too bad but since my car is back halfed on the track it's definitely loud.

On a side note my wife can distinctly hear me coming around the track compared to other cars. Which I though was kinda funny. She stayed at the lodge the second day at Expo and just sat on the porch and read a book all day and said she could hear me coming every lap during my sessions and that no other cars sounded the same as mine.

Yeah mine rattles on the LCA too but usually when warming up and not when actually driving. And you can remedy the melted bumper by using the lower setting on the muffler hangers. Mine is on the upper setting and hasn't melted anything in 4 years.

Yea I was looking into the Buddy Club III but damn it's way too loud!! Buddy Club is a good product though, just loud. I think I'm leaning towards the Invidia, with straight pipe and DC RACE Header, not the ceramic one, I dont like those at all... now I have a JDM ITR Jasma certified header, omni power straight pipe, and Apexi WS2. I wanna change that setup... Invidia exhaust system, Invidia or Skunk2 straight pipe, and as said before I think Ima go for the DC Race Header, best bang for the buck, dont want to spend too much cause as it is... Im completely rebuilding my head with Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, Skunk2 cam gears, Skunk2 valves, Skunk 2 titanium retainers, and Skunk2 dual valve springs. Thats already a little over a thousand bucks
