Seibon > vis

and 1100 is alot to make your car look unpainted.
do you have any performance mods to back up the "lighter" parts sell?

yea im not doing it for save weight im doing it for the look. and if u look on VIS site its 650 trunk and 450 hood unshipped. i paid 425 hood and 450 trunk and 200 shipping. also VIS>seibon because VIS guarentees that it will fit and have no cracks and chips if it does send it back and you get a new one for free. thats there guarentee!!!

lol @ the comment making the OP sound like a VIS fanboy

Please post pics ASAP... I had a small fender bender this weekend in Ocean City and my hood has been bent slightly. Not bad enough to crack paint, but bad enough that its a visible dent. I want a CF hood too, but I do not want to have to use pins, and I'd like to see some feedback from other members first.

Dont forget you will probably have to pay shipping both ways if you have a problem. Paying for shipping 3 ways kinda sucks and will cost you more in the long run.
Thats why I tell people to get big CF stuff local that way you can take it out of the box and look at it. If a shop wont let you take it out of the box take you business some place else.
Always use hood pins on CF hoods. I don't care what company makes the hood there is always a chance that the latch could pull out.

yea its true with the shipping didnt thingk abotu that. also at a local shop i found hood pics that have a c/r base and the pin is like a locker key type thing that isnt visible unless ur over top the hood. also i was debating about the pins wither or not to get them. but that sucks you have a fender bender in OC im leaving to go there the 19th. but y would u wait to see the feedback from other members about a c/f hood. if u think it looks good get it dont base things off wat other members have. be unique or different.

EDIT: o0o yea i ordered my stuff from a local shop. they went threw VIS thats how i got a deal on the parts. and they told me if its broke they would get it fixed for me from VIS. they just had a neon hatch break and they had problems with the customer service but in the long run they got it fixed

I don't have that good of an imagination. I'm thinking if all you wanted was opinions on what your car looks like.........maybe you should have waited, gotten the parts installed, posted pic's, and then asked. Don't know about everyone else, but I'm thinking that, would have gotten you a little better response.

This thread is useless without pics!!!!!!!

Well if you always need hood pins with CF hoods, are there any recommended hood pins that aren't ugly and bulky?

I did a quick search and came up with this, what do you think:

No those are ugly. I am not a fan of hoodpins. I'm a fan of painted carbon fiber.

Not having your latch fail causing your light *** CF hood fly up and block your vision causing you to get in an accident and die or your hood flying off and cutting someones head off.. those are just a couple advantages of hood pins.

lol not really.. I had a CF hood on my old EK and never got around to putting hood pins on it before I sold it. It was in the plans though.. my hood, although secure, did have a little bit of play and bounced around at high speeds.
I've seen pics and heard storys of CF hoods without pins flying off and it's definitely reccomended if you're going to get one.

Bought a VIS CF hood for my EK and fitment sux!It had flares where the fenders were to meet the hood and had more waves in my hood than my girl's hair. Took it back to VIS and showed it to them and they told me its one of the better hoods they have seen. Shows their customer service! sux if they couldn't replace my hood don't expect them to do yours. Seibon owns VIS. Not to mention that they didn't even bother with putting a VIS badge on it. What a poor excuse for their sorry *** products and sevice. I hope that your CF comes out top quality and that your satisfied with the fitment and overall quality of their products. IMO forking out the extra $ for Seibon is the way to go. I wish I had and I will someday for my FG2.

^^^ sorry to hear tha tman. my hood fitment was good. took a little to line up but i got it looking nice. The trunk however was off by like 3/4 of an inch so i took it to the shop where i bought it from and they gave me my cash back on the trunk. i think i should have gone with seibon as well but nothing i can do now. idk how to post pics if someone will tell me ill post pics of my hood.
