Radiator fan timing question
Keep this in mind, "I do not have overheating issues at all", but it would be nice to have the radiator fan to come on regularly when needed, not in awkward times.
I have had an engine swap with a b16a, just for info.
I start up the engine, hold 2000RPM's awaiting the fan to come on in operating tempatures. Does not come on.
But two times this happened I notice, I turn the car off after driving it, and turn the key to the on position (Where only battery is on) and the radiator fan comes on as long as I have it on the on position. I start the engine, radiator fan turns off. I turn off the engine and set it to battery, radiator fan doesn't come back on.
I found where the relay switch for the fan is (Passenger fender under hood of course), but its covered with some kind of rubber protectant that i don't wanna rip but will test it soon enough, obviously it works cause its only an open close switch but what controls this relay?
All fuses are good. Does the coolant tempature sensor have anything to do with the radiator fan?
Also i heard theres a switch next to the oil filter that supposively also controls the fan. But it could be from the d-series engine. Not sure, but wouldn't the fan only need one type of switch?

Why change if it's not broken?
If you want it to turn on when you want i t to turn on, then you'll need to wire the loop separate, and then with a switch where you could control it. ( ON.... OFF..... ON..... OFF...... ON...... OFF.....) you might forget to turn on your fan and overheat... Boom...

Hmm maybe a few people were right about this website.
Anyhow, the main purpose of a radiator fan is too cool the engine when idling. Not with the car off.
