Default Worst luck possible....

It all started about 2 weeks ago when my GSR got stolen from my buddy's apartment complex in Sacramento. I got really lucky and got it back 4 hours or so after reporting it stolen. Insurance however wanted to total the car out since the interior was ripped apart, ie stereo and hondata taken, glove compartment and surrounding trim was destroyed along with my ignition switch and steering column lock. The car was also keyed and the paint was going to cost more to redo then the car was worth. To make a long story short the insurance company was going to just pay me out for the dollar amount below total-out so I wouldn't have to have a salvage title on it. Of course that wasn't going to cover the repairs so I was planning on leaving the paint alone and just fix what I could for the time being. To make a long story short, insurance told me just last week that they had to further 'investigate' the vehicle theft because it raised a lot of red flags before they could even process the claim and pay anything (real nice of them). So I am still waiting to hear from them as to what is going to be done. Then, to make things even better, this morning on my way home on interstate 5, I'm driving home in the fast lane minding my own business at 4am when a semi truck merges all the way from the 3rd lane over into my lane and slams into the side of my car. The guy wasn't even looking where he was going and didn't even notice that he forced my car inches from the center divider at 70mph. The guy didn't pull over for like 3 minutes even though I was flashing my lights and honking at him. I called 911 to report it and CHP told me not to continue to follow the vehicle. Yeah, right, there was no way I was going to get fuc ked ont this deal now too. When he finally did pull off the highway, he got out of his truck all pissed off wondering why I was "fuc king" with him. After explaining what he just did and getting all of his insurance info I had to turn around and drive back to my friend's place. The front end is vibrating like a ***** now anywhere from 25mph and up and the passenger side of my car is cut open like a tuna can. I'm sure insurance is going to total the car out now as it is a 94 and not worth ****. Just looking for opinions as to what I should do...If they total the car out should I take all of my aftermarket stuff off of it and then buy the car back? It's really not an option right now to make payments on a car as my insurance would be through the roof for full coverage. Here's a couple pictures of the damage, while they may not look that bad, I'm sure the 2 claims I have going with insurance are more than enough to total the car out 2 or 3 times over. Sorry for the long post, thanks for any recommendations.

damn you should just let them salvage it and then buy it back for like 800. Then drive it until you can find a clean LS Shell and do an engine swap. Take what you want from your car and put it in the LS and then sell your GSR shell to someone for cheap as hell.

if you let them salvage it you will probably still come out with enough money to buy a 94 rolling shell. I don't know how you feel about doing an engine swap but that's what I would do.

oh and yes you should probably take all your aftermarket stuff.

I'd buy an LS block and a junk LS head w/a crap LS tranny and yank your GSR engine and tranny out of it and take EVRYTHING you want out of the car. Wheels included.

When they total it, it's not yours. Your cd player, EVRYTHING, will be there's.

My .01 cent.

Everything should be removed after or before the adjuster looks at it?

when i totalled my civic, everything you take either has to be replaced or its taken out of your claim.

So i have some ls webs with brand new proxy 4's so i took them off, and threw on some old piece of **** honda wheels with no tread.(they didnt care)

But i took my cd deck cause that was brand new, didnt have anything to replace it with so they took $80 out of my claim.

So i believe as long as you have something to replace it with its fine.

Also remember, say there going to give you $9000 for you car. You also get taxes, so you grand totall to you would be $9900!

Hope this helped

get the stuff you want off the car and let them total it. Start over with another car.

before..

i'd take off work or school or whatever and go buy the junk replacement parts and spend all day/night installing it.
It doesn't need to run, it just needs to roll

Just keep that engine and tranny, don't let it go to the junk yard.

i totaled my 99 ls and 2000 se thats two integras both under 120,00 Kilomiters!!!

in 6 ******* months, i just bought a 95 rs thats completly done, only probem is it has 257,000 k's which is only 160k miles... im rebuild the internals and tune it up and do the fluids ittl get me threw another 2 years easy
and to swap another ls motor in, will cost me what.. 600$ us...

car will cost me 4,500$ insurance is giving me 14,000$ i owe a 9 grand loan.

i get to buy this car and pay my loan and put it on the road and just be a lil over 14 grand
... and hey if i was like u and had a gsr motor n ****, id put this motor in the totaled car and swap in there then have the adjuster out

now i save 160$ on insurance for this annualy term till my renewal, then when it goes up cause of two accidents..... ittl prolly be like + 250, s - 160 = 90$ increase from what ive been paying already.. i can deal with that...

seriously think about that idea, u say u did a swap b4 then u obviously know wuts good then.
