modifying an 88-91 HKS Sport Exhaust cat-back to fit an 88-91 CRX?
Has anyone done this? Which pipe needs to be modified? Tried searching but came up with nothing. Thanks in advance.

I have done this on my car.
I shortened the Mid Pipe on my car right after the resonator. I think I ended up cutting close to 6.5" out and then welding back together.
I found the easy way to do it is to do as follows.
* remove old exhaust from cat on back.
* Hang HKS muffler.
* install mid pipe to the muffler/tail section loosely.
* Have a friend measure how far you need to remove by measuring how much longer the flange that bolts to the cat is than it is supposed to be.
* Then remove the mid pipe, and cut out that amount from anywhere in the straight section that the resonator is on.
*Reinstall Mid Pipe, and enjoy a great exhaust.

Jon,
Thanks for your help and advice- I had it done at a local muffler shop and it is nice to have an HKS again! Nice and quiet but definite HP bump, just like the one I had back in 91! I like how they have a darker (almost Greddy SP) coating, compared to the almost silver like I had before.
The tips didn't come out as straight as yours, but I'm still happy!

Im debating on shortenting the HKS exhaust I have or just selling it. I will say it did look nice on the hatch and from the pics above DOES look good on the CRX but I am going to be going turbo and not sure if it will be big enough?
