2-3 people already on HT have said that thet put tranny oil on their tires i lol'ed at first, but, could that actually be worse for the tires than silicone

how about motor oil, vegetable oil?

I wouldn't put any kind of solvent on a tire. That's just asking for trouble.

 

3M silicone spray. last for weeks..
