Default My freinds accord

My boy has a 91 accord with a 98 h22a. He just told me that he can feel the clutch start to slip. He got the engine install in febuary and he said they put in a brand new neuspeed clutch. He took it to the strip once. he said that all his rpm ranges for his speed are off (he said he runs higher rpm for same speeds) I'm not sure because I never drove it till today but it feels like it hooks up pretty hard when you get on it. He said he does 6K at 120. Does something sound off or does it sound fine.

maybe he is confusing the speed ranges for the h22 for the f the f gearbox has longer gearing, anyone wouldknow such a constrained range of speed in the gearing means a shorter gearset...which many with an f motor accord owner die to have....please smack your freind

What? Are you on crack? I'm talking about the ranges right after the swap and until now. here he'll explain it.

buddy what im concerned about is that if i was going a 100 with my old engine i would be at like 3 grand now if im going a 100 im at like 4.5 grand waht can i do to get the rpms back downs so that i can increase my top end.

can "Your Boy" smell anything? (like a burning clutch?) If he feels as if it's slipping, then it probably is.

Like everyone else said, the tranny's are geared differently...in your F22, you were doing 100 at like 3k, but think, your redline is at 6k with the F22 versus the H22 doing 100 at 4,500 but redlines at what, 7200 or somethin like that?? Those motors are made to wind out higher, hence why you're gonna be doing high speeds at higher RPMs.

W3RD.

shorter gearset + higher-revving engine = higher rpms at same speed

If you don't want the Prelude tranny, I'll swap you my Accord tranny for it.
