Yes they have, custom Jenvey's produced 9 more BHP at the top.

how so?

custom being not off shelf; not something someone always has; and anyway comparing 9 PEAK BHP over an intake manifold; isn't that impressive.

Performer X

.. pretty much i know itbs are a wide range of uses and well fitments. But, in this case, just cause its custom doesn't mean ****, the lines and fuel rail could be custom, but its off the shelf runners, manifold and stacks. You dont know what "custom" is.
On the street, some dude with a pretty close setup to mine, swapped his pro series out for this motor, and he got beat worst then before when he had his pro series. I'm sortof tuned, he's fully tuned.. just an idea of comparing apples to oranges tho.. itbs and a manifold is different in alot of ways.

But itbs will make more power then a off the shelf manifold anyday, IF the motor has the supporting mods for it.

I happen to like the Performer X maifold, with a little matching it performes very well. The question was had it been compared to ITB,s. The answer was yes. The custom part of the Jenvey's ment it was matched to the engine, bore size, air horn, etc. Other one size fits all ITB's may perform worse than the Performer X, this combination made more all the way accross the board, not all will.
I probably should have not even answered this thread, I will know better next time. Too many experts on here that bought a Ebay copy header and their "butt" dyno says it's Bad ***.Probably is compared to the old B16 header they had.

the performerx could be considered the "best" IM out there for a NA setup.

but how bad of a beating does a itb have over the performer. i want to know midrange and topend

Which ITB's? There are several choices, just as there are plenum intakes. I swaped out 93-lsvtec-eh2's ITB's with different ones and made better numbers. Comparing his old ITB's to the new ones is like an LS manifold to a Performer x.

performerx > * in terms of IM for a NA setup. yes even the ported IB.

then again, it depends on the setup.

old style two piece twm itb's with a jenvey manifold compared to a full set of 48mm taper bore jenveys new jenveys won by a long shot

not if you do a search on it, a lot of people have had to modify parts to fit
