I have this listed in the want to buy section as well but I figured I could post here as well to maybe find some "tech" or a "how-to" on making something like this, maybe somebody on here already has?? Here in the CRX forum I figured I may have a better chance to find some info


I have a '91 CRX Si with the door mounted seatbelts and all I want are some vent visors (as they are slangly called around here) that attach to your door so you can crack your windows some when it's raining. Vent shade, the most common brand does not make them for any 88-91 CRX only 88-91 civic Hbs, I don't know why the CRX is left out but it sucks. I found a link to "slimshades" which look awesome and fit like a dream but I get no response from the email address they have which is the only contact they list. I just REALLY want to find something I can buy like this and maybe somebody here can help me.

I know alot of CRX owers would love to find a good source for these

 

Doors are the same, the ones for the civic will fit your crx.

 

Password JDM still have in stock. Price is kinda outrageous though.

I had been looking every where for those, and finally came across another crx that had only its driver side, I looked at the company name and part# and Wow ventshade does make some that fit almost perfect! After I got mine, pulled the mirror off and started at the back and worked it on forward, fit like a glove. Just ask for Part# 92033 Your welcome

I'll have to check that since you have the part number, Ventshade did not make them when I checked before. I hope your right

yeah I did forget to mention I don't wan the jdm ones, they are stupid over priced and don't even deflect rain as well as Ventshade or anybody else for that matter.

 

Really? I used the rubber trim peice that holds the window from a civic, and it lined up perfectly in my crx door. I thought they were the same. Sorry.

My buddys 91 HB ventshade visors were a big difference in angle at the a-pillar on my '89 rex w/ door mounted seatbelts which is the same as my '91 CRX. So I don't know what you did but it was not the same setup I am talking about....maybe the 88s w/o door mounted seatbelts are interchangeable?? not sure

#92033 is for the '91 hb I just confirmed so I don't know what year CRX you have but the 91 hb version is a different rake than the crx, believe me if they were even close to fitting I would have ma it work but it was just way too off to make it look good much less fit right

 

do the jdm crx visors even fit the 89-91 crx? i thought that all the jdm doors didn't have seatbelts and so the jdm visors will only work on '88 doors.
please correct me if i'm wrong. i'd like to find some visors for my crx too.

you may be right but I don't think the width of the b-pillar garnish covers would matter cause don't they go all the way to the back of the door? either way I would NEVER pay the $150.00ish shipped for those, my buddy got the OEM jdm ones for his DA integra and they suck at keeping rain out so I figure they won't be any better for a CRX (even if they fit) My buddy switched back to Ventshade since they worked SOO much better than the JDM ones, cheaper too

it just blows my damn mind that somebody made something that looks this hot and can't or won't make more?? wtf?!!?!!

With your 2 posts i will go ahead and assume this is untrue.

 

Believe what you will, here is a picture to prove it - buddies 91 with them and my 89 in the back of the picture. They are only $50 I'll get a close up pic tomorrow for sure.

I can't quite tell in this pic but it looks like another mark beside the last part number, it may be important can you verify? (looks like a "P" for passenger side maybe?) . either way I see that they do infact fit your CRX (not that I doubted) which makes me wonder what part number we used for my buddys '91 HB?? I may just try a set with that number and see what I come up with. but the fact the you say you interchanged them between you buddys HB and your rex? that one still has me stumped

yups, civic hatch visors on my crx extended outwards like a mo fo. on the bright side i could open my window 3-4 inches without getting rained on.

..........and now back to the subject at hand..
So right now I'll be trying out the Vent shade application due to the price and how well they work, if they don't fit I can always return them so I'll update once I get them.

 

To the guy who's stumped, I never said I interchanged them between cars, I bought a set for my 89,same with my bro's and my friend with a 91crx also bought. They all fit no problem and the ones for the HB are part# 92047 the original ones I bought at first. I had to cut it in the middle to make it fit and black tape which was hurting but worked. 92033 is the one u guys want, just might not fit rex's with the gay door mounted seatbelts.
