Default Ls motor - Swaping to CTR pistons and Aem Cam Questions..

I am putting ctr pistons already on ls rods into my motor.
12.16.1 compression roughly from what i read..

Do i need to upgrade the cams to gain the horse power such as Aem..
http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-3547.cfm

And what kind of horse power could i expect

I would upgrade your cams to take advantage of the potential power and also get the cam gears to help you tune it properly once completed. Cam gears alone will help but still leave a lot of power on the table without matching cams.

My son built his LS motor using ITR pistons and Crower 404's with full valve train
and dynoed at 163 whp & 130 lbs torque. With a larger TB and better header
I'm sure we can pull 170 -175 whp. Good luck!
