Default car overheated... changed stat... now everyhthing is just hot!!!

ok well long story short i was at work... blew coolant hose on the head, replaced hose, overheated, got new thermostat, problem solved....

now everything in my car is just hot as hell!!! my oil temp gauge reads 200-230 when it used to read ~160... my hood gets hot as hell!!! and my expletive valve cover gets so hot it's ridiculous! i burnt my hand on it the other day it has never ever gotten that hot before what's the deal guys!??!!

i bled my coolant lines and fixed the previous idle problem. thanks guys

edit: water temp is fine... right at usual... fan is working... coolant is flowing

Your radiator might be going bad or the water pump.

bout to be boosting so i'm probably gonna get a mishimoto radiator when i do that... but wouldn't the water temp show higher on my gauge if it was the radiator?

are u sure there is no air in ur coolant? if there is air in there it will cause ur coolant to boil. i would take the rad cap off (when the car is cold) put some rags around the opening and get a decent sized funnel. next call a buddy over and have him start the car and when the thermostat opens up tell him to rev the motor up to about 2000 rpms maybe 2500 and keep it there for a lil. while ur buddy is reving it squeeze the lower and upper rad hose just to make sure u get all the air out. ull see the collant boiling out and gurgling out of the opening of the radiator. when the gurgling stops top off the collant and put the cap back on and clean up. u should be fine after that. should take 10min 15 max. gl with it.

like he said, you can burp the system or if you have the D16z6 you can use the bleeder screw.

i have a d15b... and i used the bleeder screw but it didn't do a damn thing... i'm gonna use the funnel method as soon as it cools down... it's 100 expletive degrees out with 50% humidity...
