Default Slide vs butterfly throttle bodies

Why is it that all the ITB i see are the butterfly design. Would a slide style not outflow it? You see it all the time on small engine carbs and even little r/c motors have a form of a slide style. Why is it not popular with throttle bodies?

I beleive they aren't that good for daily drivability but why not for an all out drap application?

I'm sure there is a simple explaination but i don't know much about them.
