Default Nippon Wheels - How is their quality?

I know someone asked the same question, but didn't get much feedback (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1986587). Can anyone tell me the quality of any of their rims? I am in the process of letting some rims go that came on my hatch and wanna replace them with some Nippons I saw that I liked... Any feedback on their quality would be appreciated... Thanks!

Bump the original thread next time, instead of making a new one.

They're okay wheels. They're on par with ROTA construction, so for daily driving it'd be ok.

There was a similir thread made about 2 weeks ago. I believe it displayed a Nippon rim broken in half. Might want to search for it.

Holy crap! That's not good. That's when I decided against Focals as well. I wanted Focal F5s when they 1st came out, but then I saw one on an Eclipse, where the hub got busted away from the spokes and the rim itself went traveling down the street after hitting a curb.

Got a set of 15" type c's. Really good construction and very light weight. I use it for commuting back and forth from school so I hope I don't break a rim in half anytime soon. from me

Just go with rota for a few bucks more... if you gotta budget that is. If not save up and get a good set of rims! VOLKS FTW!

Well, it had 18" Volk TE37 knockoffs, and I didn't care for the style (personally) then I settled for actual Racing Hart Evo C2 as a trade... What do ya think?

Your car looks naked without moldings, but the wheels look okay, kinda big though.

Well, congrat's on getting rid of your old knock-off's, but you still have knock-off's.

RH Evolution ≠ Racing Hart

Here's the real version of your new wheels.
Racing Hart C4's:

Huh? Not according to this guy and a couple others...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Opossum Jenkins &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">rh evolutions c2's are not knockoffs. they are the original design then all these other companies knocked off them. they are simply the cheaper 1 piece version of the multi piece c2. they were all sold under the dazz motorsports distributor here in america..they may of been made in china but i will not say they are knockoffs.

RH= racing hart....maybe not made by HART but still same company as the racing hart rims.

i have never heard anything bad about c2 evo's

the racing hart c2 3 piece was manufactured by work wheels and is known to be great wheel.. the first generation type c is a very nice wheel as well but was also known to be very soft and the silicone beads leaked a lot from usage. many people i know just get them rebuilt and resealed</TD></TR></TABLE>

The guy I got them from got new centercaps from Dazz for these rims too and they told him they're Genuine Racing Harts, C2 Evo, still a Racing Hart rim. Oh well, no biggie, I just got rid of the car 3 days ago WITH the rims. LOL

The clear cloat on the nippon will start to peal after a year.

Hint the price on the rim. you get what you pay for. they are good for every day driving. i don't know how durable they are if they bent and stuff. i wouldn't suggest getting them.

do you know this from experience or are you just trying to bash a company? I have gunmetal nippon f-2's and the clear coat finish is the same as when I bought them about 1.5 years ago. maybe you should have cleaned your wheels?

Yes im talking by experience. why in the world would i bother to bash that company for. i said the clear coat finish peals. they are good for every day driving. Why do you say "should have cleaned your wheels?" whats cleaning have to do with it?

Belive me i take care of my stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfjOJTeBLaw

When the clear coat peals is easy an fix. Just get it re-coated again. for me i just sold them. but it was only 1 rim that started to peal not all 4.

Durability i don't know because i drove really carefully and i had it for a year. Now i moved to a different rim brand. You get what you pay for.

ok that video didn't prove anything. how do polished wheels start to peel? unless those aren't the wheels you're discussing.

The video was to prove to you that i takecare of my rims. since you mention "maybe you should have cleaned your wheels"

Just like you i thought they was polished but NO! they aren't they have a thing clear coat on top.

The rims on the video that i did are by NIPPON. and yes thats the rim that im talking about since the topic on the thread says "Nippon Wheels - How is their quality?"

The clear cloat on the nippon will start to peal after a year.

let me rephrase what i was getting at in the last thread and also correct myself so i won't mislead others any further...

what i meant to say was racing hart, lowenhart, rh evolution were all sold under the same distributer here in the USA.... DAZZ

DAZZ had the RH line made to resemble the racing hart wheels but i will stick to this fact right here: RH EVOLUTION ARE BASICALLY ONE PIECE VERSIONS OF THE HART WHEELS. if you consider that a replica then so be it but all these other companies like kyowa or whoever knocked off the rh c2 evos are the real replica designs not RH.

toyomatt is correct.... rh c2 evo is rh evolution NOT racing hart and same w/ all the other evo c5, etc, etc.. i hope that cleared up everything..sorry to mislead
