my 90 crx si project
A month ago I picked up a black 90 crx si that had some problems for 1850$. Motor had 130k and tranny/clutch had 30k.
The bad:
broken rear defrost
sunroof wouldn't open/shut
missing trim pieces
torn up seats
missing interior pieces
climate fan didnt work
rusted sunroof
peeling tint on 3 windows
The good:
fresh clutch and si tranny 30k ago
new distributor
new alternator
ALL NEW BRAKES (pads/rotors/calipers)
came with all the receipts for this stuff!
Car was totally stock and had been repainted and it was peeling a little. My friend happened to have a 90 crx si without a motor sitting in his yard he needed to get rid of. I gave him 600$ for it and in return I got tokico blues with nuespeeds, SiR hood, bumper, headlights, corner lights, turns, sidemarkers, hatch, spoiler, and tail lights. Also got a non rusted sunroof, a few switches, etc.
The SiR hatch defrosts fine so thats nice. The sunroof was missing the rear guides. Got the seats out of it (pretty clean). Put a fuse in the spot for the climate fan, works great. Took off the shitty purple tint. Got all the trim pieces I needed to the exterior and interior were complete.
After I fixed everything I bought an ebay header and intake and 4pc tie bar kit. I put my alpine deck in it, already had 4 type s speakers. Shampooed the carpet, wiped the interior down, and she looks much better than when I got her and im only 2450$ into her.
Overall its been pretty fun fixing up this car, I drove it 1600 miles to Cali and back and realized I need something a little bigger so I cant decided if I want to paint/build a6/JRSC or sell it as is and get a truck. Ill get some pics up tonight.
