My question is: I want to swap engine blocks, take out the D16z block, and to put in D15b2 block with transission, of course leaving head from d16z.

Thank you in advance. I you have questions post, i will try to give all the information you will need.

It's gonna be a major pain in the ******* ***. Everything will suck. Let's start with the block itself, you can bolt up the transmission and head no problem. First off, the VTEC won't work, because there's no oil jet on the B2 block (at least I don't think there is) like there is on the B7 or Z6. Without the oil passage, VTEC won't engage.

Then we'll move to the OBD differences. The alternator, distributor, and injectors all won't match up to the harness.

So your best bet for that would be to go buy a harness from an '88-'91 CRX or civic and then chop the alternator, distributor, and injector ends of it. Then you solder or crimp those onto your existing harness and it should plug into the existing components on the motor just fine.

It's gonna be a royal pain in the *** and I have no idea how you're gonna get VTEC to work.

Go buy a 92+ motor.

I have mus expressed my self wron. Sory about that.
I have a '93 honda civic with D16z7 engine, it is on the car, runing, "eating" oil, no power.

What i want to do is only to put the D15b2 block to that place whre my d16z is now. just to swap.

About the the oil jet, anyone ? does d15b2 has oil jet for vtec, I mean closed or something?

thanks.

Research this in the Civic EF/CRX forums. I'm sure theres plenty of information on this subject there.
