Go with OEM...I know they cost an arm and a leg but the ES poly's ride pretty harsh ...You get somewhat used to it over time but damn its pretty ruff...

No. You have to order them all separately.

Black ones are impregnated w/ a lubricant that keeps them from deteriorating and sqeaking like a ****...

So the OEM bushings provide superior ride and last longer than the ES blacks?

When/if you do make a part list and post it in the FAQ section so we all can have it for future usage :D

I had the ES black master kit installed on my lude about 9 months ago. I really like it and the ride is not too harsh. There is a noticeable difference thats for sure...really brought the suspension back to life. The bushings that got replaced did have 180,000 on them. Does anyone know what the OEM bushings are made out of?

im not sure the life on the oem but in the oem defence most people compare the es kit to a already worn out oem bushing. not a good way to compare kits. which is why id rather just replace all with oem rubber. now just to compile a parts list for others who might want the same as me.

You are exactly right! Poly bushings will bind depending on which component they're used in and do require maintenance. OEM is the way to go.

Yes! I guess some places the ES stuff is good to use, and some OEM is better. But the OEM will last alot longer then any of the ES stuff.

Make that list, I want to do a full changeout as well...

Do you have any way to back up your claims? Are there any real studies out there that have compared the two?

Not off the top of my head, its just what I have picked up over the years...

Some parts are meant to give a little, where the OEM rubbers would be best. Some parts are better stiffer, which the poly would be best. So I think the best setup is a mix, but its all up to you.

The poly has a lot more maintence involved. Granted you could probably buy 2 sets of ES stuff for 1 set of OEM. But I KNOW the OEM will last longer. And there is little to no maintenance involved.

Just do a search and see what people say. Other then a few key locations, for a DD, OEM is best.

What maintenance is involved for bushings? Greasing/lubrication? I thought the advantage of the black ES kit was that the poly also had graphite mixed with it for lubrication.

Can you help me out with some specifics or examples that illustrate your point?

I have yet to compile that list, so again it is just what I have read over time.

The blacks do have graphite added to "help" with lubrication....

Just do a search, and enjoy reading 321312312 posts.

ok kinda amazed by what ive got so far. this is a list of what i compiled from honda automotive. i put boots in on the price just b/c i have some worn boots and i wanted a grand total so far u can remove from price. this does not include the shock bushings/bump stops/isolators. i didnt include those yes bc im not sure if those would be supplied with new shock/springs.

so far this includes front and rear LCA, radius rod, front sway, knuckle and tie rod boots, and tie rod.

now feel free to change some thing around and help me make a better complete list. I couldn't find the boot for the rack and pinion either so if ne 1 knows lemme know.

For the 4th-gen Prelude, you can order them separately, or you can order the entire damper/spring/upper mount assembly which includes all of those items (at a considerable expense).

if you subtracted the boots. bc i wont buy all new boots just whats ripped and worn its ~250 plus the shock bushings. again im not sure if those will be supplied when you buy shock/spring combo. im getting gc and koni so i havta find out if they some with ne those bushings. lol im not gunna lie when i saw the price i was like damn es looked a lil better but id really prefer oem.

Small price to pay if you plan on keeping the car for a while. You're basically putting the entire suspension back to new.

I got the P/Ns for the front lca bushings below. The prices on Majestic are very reasonable. Curious thing is all below but #14 come from Japan and and only # 18 is listed as a prelude part instead of an accord part. I believe that is why it and many of the rear bushings are so expensive since Honda doesn't order nearly as many.

# desc. PN qty D/N
2 bush, stabilizer holder 51306-sm4-010 2 $5.45 $10.90
6 rubber stabilizer end 51314-sm4-020 4 $2.01 $8.04
12 bush, FR. Radius rod (RR) 51381-sm4-013 2 $6.95 $13.90
13 bush, FR. Radius rod (FR) 51391-sm4-013 2 $6.95 $13.90
14 bush, FR stabilizer 51393-sv1-a01 2 $4.48 $8.96
18 bush, shock absorber 51810-ss0-004 2 $13.00 $26.00

front lca bushings were listed in my price. i just needed to add the shock bushings.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by vinuneuro &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Small price to pay if you plan on keeping the car for a while. You're basically putting the entire suspension back to new.</TD></TR></TABLE>

thats my plan all new bushings and boots new springs and shocks new tie rods lower ball joints rear sway strut bars. try and get the majority of my suspension new and done right so i dont havta worry about that then i can focus on the engine.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Targa250R &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
No.</TD></TR></TABLE>

so none of these parts but spring and shock are supplied with koni and gc?
