Default H1 Bulbs wont fit!!

hey, whats going on?... well, I just got some HIDs for my 02 RSX. I tried to put them on the car but it seems like the factory bulb has a pastic piece around it, wich the IHD bulb does not have. I toght I had the wrong bulb size or something, but everything looks the same except that plastic piece on the factory one.

I dont know if I was clear enogh, but doe anybody know how to make them fit? do I need to brake the factory bulb to use the liitle piece?... any help would be good.

thank you.

you need to use that plastic piece, its called an X-clip. there is a tutorial on how to make it. basically, just cut off the rest of it, leaving you with a flat x. then dremel out/sand out the inside till it is a circle, and put this around your HID bulb

NOOOOOO!! the whole DIY did not go so well.. I broke the thing in half (yes, I felt stupid) I order the adaptors from Xenondepot.com... till they get here, no driving at night for me. I should have done that from day one, instead of wating for the last minute when I messed things up.

thanks for the advice everyone... can wait to get the "X" clip.

Its a celebration!!! I just installed my HIDs today, record time. I got the "X" adaptors from xenondepot.com like at 4pm, by 5pm I was already wating for the sun to go away so I can see how they looked.

THE BAD: I turned them on at 5pm or 6pm to see how they looked, they were fine, but I notice something wired. I order 10K (bright blue) bulbs, but they looked kind of white and bright to me. so, around 9pm I turn them on again and no blue bean was coming out. instead, a bright white bean. so I guess I got 6K.

Ill wait till tomorow to take some pics, they are not blue, but whatever... I like them. maybe from far they turn into blue or something.

maybe you got the 5000k? They are pure white. I got the 6000k, they are white with a hint of purple. I have also had 4300k, which are white with a hint of yellow. They pretty much look like powerful stock lights (this is with out projectors).

heres a quick sketch..the plastic piece im talking about was in the cylinder casing in which the hid bulb was packed in....

when i get around to it. ill do a real write up about it..cause i didnt want to deal with "x-clip" but i was also afraid that the plastic would melt but i took a risk an have ran my HIDs for over an hour a few times an never had any problems and my lights dont shake on bumpy roads..any comments? or questions?

the "X" piece makes the bulbs fit really good, not like factory, but really stragit and steady. If you get your way around it wihtout the X clip, well, let us know cuz I think it would be great info.

If I did get the 5000k I dont think Im gonna change them any time soon, tomorow ill post some pics.

actually, you may still have gotten the 10,000k (although i dont know why you would have gone that high). the K temp applies to the color after the color shift, which depends on the brand. its after a couple hundred hours though

I used the "X" clip, by the time you post your solution I already had broken my factory bulbs and ordered the clips.... thats why I hope you get around a way to do it, so nobody else break ther bulbs trying to get the "Getto-X-clip"

BTW: glad the pics came out nice... they were taken for research porps and I think it work.
