ls-vtec or gsr
i was wondering what i would get more out of i have a full gsr(motor head trans) running in my car and i was wondering if i put my head on a ls block and dropped that in what kind of difference would the make?
i eventually plan on doing ls/vtech... slowly, meaning i'm gonna build it.... but i still have a lot of stuff to do before i'm throwing in fully built lsvtech. i might just end up building my gsr... who knows... you can search on here i think there has been some threads about maximum potential...
either way good luck with whatever you decide...

stay with the gsr..more reliable..i dont care what anybody say's..to make a lsvtec relaible its gunna be expensive..and the gains of a lsvtec compared to a gsr is not that much..if your looking for more power i say boost the gsr..

Maybe you should, indeed start slow.
Maybe you should learn to spell VTEC first.

You should stick with the gsr motor you have. It's more reliable then the lsvtec. To many horror stories about the lsvtec braking. I suggest building your gsr.
lol @ all the false info. for the ppl saying ls/vtec's are unreliable - do you actually own one and was it built correctly?? let me guess.. no. ls/vtec's are not expensive to make reliable at all. my ls/v costs less than a b16 swap and put out more power than a GSR. cracks me up that most of the ppl responding are n00bs on HT.
IMO, if you don't have any idea how to build a ls/v, stick with a GSR.

^^ That is an awesome reason to go LSvtec right there.
OP, what is wrong with the GSR motor that you currently have?
If there is nothing wrong with it just stick with what you have, there is no point in building another motor if you dont need to.

Except he already has the gsr so what everyone is saying is that it would be pointless to spend the money on making ls/vtec reliable when he can stick with an already reliable motor and boost it. Of course you can make ls/vtec reliable if you want to dump the money into it, but why do it when you already have a motor with great potential?

A good ls/vtec setup takes time to build. If your really interested in ls/vtec then you should ride with the GSR you have now, and build the ls/vtec motor on the side. Ls/vtec motors can have crazy gains, but the stock GSR from honda is a very reliable bet.
