Default Air Conditioning Help Needed!

Guys,
I bought my car and the AC didn't work so I re-charged it and bam it works great! Well-kinda. I am looking for some feedback... When I am on the highway it seems like the AC is surging or coming on and off. I think I can feel the AC turning off and on. But it always pumps out cold air. Is this normal? When driving in the city I don't notice the surging like I do on the highway, besides have no GUTS! Damn does the AC kill the hp in the torqueless wonder of a B18C1. Does anyone else have the same findings? Is this normal?

are you at WOT when the ac is on. I've heard that when you are at wide open throttle, the ac compressor turns off by itself. This is what i remember reading, but i could be wrong.

The a/c compressor is supposed to cycle off and on. It acts as a pump, pressurizing the r134 in liquid form to a gas. It will cycle when the car is bot moving and stopped, so it is normal. Just enjoy the 40 degree air coming out the vents when it is 97 degrees and humid out, hehehe
