im not sure, you would most likely have to run it through the amp then to the head unit if you were looking for some special sound, only thing is, lmao, im no guitarist, lol so i dont really know what all that would take, have you tried calling a Car Stero place? or you could bug those asses at best buy, lmao

If your headunit has one of the aux ports like the size of a regular headphonejack,
you should be able to get some kind of adapter for your guitar to fit it.

You might start by telling us make & model of your car, as well as make & model of the head unit...

You're not going to get anything out of it if you just put an adapter to size down your guitar output to the 3.5mm jack on the deck. An electric guitar requires an amplifier to get anything useful from the pickups. And no, you're not going to want to use a car stereo amplifier.

The whole thing is pretty retarded and useless, but if you want to do it, I suggest hard wiring a AC/DC converter and hiding it in the center console. Then you'll have to put your practice amp in the trunk. Mount it down with some L brackets from home depot or something.

Three things...
The 1/4" AUX jack on HUs is a stereo jack, your guitar jack is mono.
You would need a preamp.
You would need to match the output of the guitar to the input of a car amp.

Be a lot easier with suspendedHatchs idea. 94

Trying to be like the v-dubb, My boi bought that car and it came like that with a free guitar. It can be done but it not going to be cheap.

Actually not that bad, about $100-$200, the preamp/PA is about $150 it has an adjustable AUX input, standard mono phono jack, [guitar jack].

Installed 5-6 of them on some tour buses some years back, tour for a bunch of American and European born again christians, they needed something to plug an electric organ into, would work for a guitar just as well. 94
