what did your R weigh in?
2360 w/o driver, with A/C, PS, stock rims, spare tire, etc...
Also it was with no rear seats, no air bags, spoon seats, and with a 1/2 tank of gas.
Now currently its a lot lighter. By how much, we'll see on the track!

I want my ITR to weigh 2300-2400 lbs without sacrifising too much.
I have no problems living without airbags..just the legality of it. And bumper supports, what would insurance say if you were to get into an accident without one?

where's the weight from on 00-01 US type R's vs. JDM R's with SRS, A/C, and ABS?
Lack of front impact bar= 30lbs
Lack of side impact bar in doors, etc...= 30lbs
Lack of rear impact bar= 30lbs
Lack of center impact beam= 30lbs
JDM R's have lighter parts (A/C bracket, header, etc...)= 40lbs.
Plus little things like lack of US center consol, no rear wiper, etc... =10lbs
TOTAL around 170lbs
Oh yeah JDM R rims are 5lbs heavier total (all 4). Plus JDM R seats are around 10lbs heavier then US seats total. So thats like 15lbs added. So its really just that the JDM R's have less safety in their car with all little bit more race (light weight stuff) and less little BS things. It all adds up.
Those numbers are estimates however stuff like that all add's up which is why US R's are still heavier. JDM= less safety US R's= more safety
