Climate control removal
Im trying to fix the bracket that the climate control screws into because ever since I bought the car its been broken so my climate control sags down.... so I bought a 3' piece of aluminum and im going to make myself a new bracket.... but the thing it I cant seem to get the 2 harnesses that clip onto the climate control to release... and I dont have enough room in there to pull it out to see if they have those tabs that you have to hold down for them to come out.... So i was wondering does anyone have any suggestions on how to get those 2 harnesses out so I can take the whole climate control unit out and put my bracket in?
do you have the old piece that broke. I had the same prob. and my friend works ata body shop just used a plastic welder or a two piece epoxy works great and line up perfect.
the hazard unit and defrogger buttons are hard but they just pull out give them a good gentle yank. I work at a acura dealership and thats how we do it. then disconnect the cables to the climate control and the two screws that are hidden behind the hazard and defrogger buttons.
nevermind I found a write up on TI... I tried using epoxy but it didnt work... the plastic bracket was broken in 4 places.... the previous owner had satelite radio installed and whoever did the install hacked the **** out of it luckily I ripped all that **** out the day I bought the car.... anyway I just made my bracket out of aluminum... took me a little while to get it right but its in and it works like a charm... my climate control sits the way it should now...
