Default To all Suspension gurus

Hey guys, i just received my KYB AGX shocks in the mail i have a few questions..

oh and i have a 94 Honda civic coupe.


1) ok theres 4 shocks, three part numbers. 2 are the same, the other 2 are different. any reason why? can you tell me which is which theres 2: 741007 1: 741006 and 1:741005 can anyone verify is those are correct?

2) I thought that new shocks came with new bumpstops.. anyone help me out here?

3) lol.. dont laugh, but how do i adjust them? they came wit ha flat head screw driver thing.

1) Front and rear shocks differ in valving and length. Usually rear shocks have a shorted body.

2) Some kits do, but most just ask that you trim your oem bumpstop. You can buy new ones at the parts store.

3) The flathead screwdriver thingy is likey what you use to adjust them. Lefty softy righty stiffy.

ok and more questions.

what do people recommend of how to set the adjustments on..

its a daily driven civic coupe with gsr in it. will be used at the track once in aw hile, but daily driven.

any suggestions?

and the spring is h&r sport

will i got the kyb with skunk 2 coilovers and i run them at 4 in front and 7 in the back. Its a daily driver.

They're adjustable so the driver can set them to his driving standards.

If there were universal perfect damping settings, we wouldn't have adjustable shocks.

Most people drive with it stiffer in the rear though.

KYB agx's usually are 4 way in the front and 5 way in the rear.

I don't know much more about them, but I would assume that the rear just has more precise damping adjustments. So theoretically 4 in the front is similar to 8 in the rear.

Check out the suspension forum. There's shock dyno's and plenty of info about these popular shocks.
