I just did my front pads. I popped the res. cap open before compressing the pistons back in. When the second one was almost in, I saw fluid dripping and thought it was a busted brake line at first, but teh fluid had overflowed. I rinsed off the area that was exposed to fluid in ~1min. Should the paint be ok in there?

 

if it didn't do anything before you rinsed it off its prolly allright , it will take paint off though haha

 

Brake fluid and coolant are very bad for paint.

I would try to rinse off as much of the paint you can with soap and water.

 

i dunno, i cant see in the engine bay below the res. Don't think there's too much painted area there, just straight down. Plus, some of that area is covered in oil from my oil changes. Damn, SH oil-filter location/angle.

 

rinse with water never rub off the area with a towel. Thats what i have always been told.
